The process of appointing a new rector for Hanken is now set

At its meeting on 28 February 2022, the board of Hanken decided on the process for electing a new rector. This time, there will be an open application process in combination with the possibility of direct recruitment. The recruitment process will be launched during the second week of March.

The term of office starts on 1 August (or by agreement) for a maximum period of five years. The Universities Act states that a rector of a university in Finland can be elected for a maximum of five years at a time.

A nomination committee for the process has been nominated. The committee consists of the chair and vice chair of the board, accompanied by one board representative from each group: 1) professors, 2) faculty and staff, and 3) students.

The appointed members of the committee are the chair of the board Christoph Vitzthum, vice chair Janne Larma, member Mats Ehrnrooth, member Viveka Ekholm and member Jennifer Holmberg. In the final phase of interviews, the chair of the Hanken university collegium Professor Rune Stenbacka will be invited to join the committee in its work.

•    Declaration of the vacancy 10.3, advertising the vacancy 13.3, application period until 30.3.2022.
•    Selection and interviews 5.4-6.5
•    Final interviews 9-17.5
