Information for promovendi

On this page we gather some more practical information and instructions for your participation at the conferment ceremony.

Compulsory general rehearsal

In addition to the general programme a compulsory general rehearsal is held for the promovendi that are taking part in the ceremony.

The rehearsal will be held on Thursday 31 October at 18.00 in the Assembly Hall at Hanken. Attendance is compulsory. Please, bring you doctoral hat to the rehearsal! The rehearsal will take approximately 30-45 minutes.

During the rehearsal we give you last instructions and you place your doctoral hat at your name tag on stage in the Assembly hall. You receive your hat back during the ceremony when the conferrer confers you by placing your hat on your head.

Guests

You are welcome to attend the ceremonial conferment at Hanken with two guests. These guests should be registered by name in your registration form. In case the situation requires we will ask for contact details of all guests at a later stage.

Due to the solemn character of the event children under 12 years old are not allowed as guests.

For friends and family that can not be present in the Assembly hall the event will be live streamed. Link to the live stream will be send to all promovendi closer to the date.

You are welcome to attend the gala dinner at Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa with one accompanying guest. Hanken will offer you the dinner. The fee for the dinner for your guest is 95 euro and the payment can be settled with your registration.

Photographs

Please note that it is not allowed for friends and family to take photos in the Assembly hall. A professional photographer will be on site and will take pictures during and after the ceremony.

There will be a brief photo session with all promovendi directly after the ceremony. More instructions will be sent to all registered closer to the date.

The photos are available free of charge after the ceremony. It is also possible to have a professional photo taken with your hat in a studio at Hanken after the ceremony. This is at own costs and will be invoiced directly by the photographer.
