All students at universities in Finland are automatically members of the university's student union, which is why you pay the student union fee at the beginning of the academic year. The student unions lobby for their students and ensure that the students' voices are heard at universities, in politics and nationally. The Student Union's activities in Vaasa

All students at Hanken are members of the Student Union, SHS. However, our students in Vaasa are also members of the student association SSHV, which through a cooperation agreement with SHS takes care of the student union's tasks in Vaasa. For you who study in Vaasa, this does not mean any extra costs, you pay the student union fee every year, just like those in Helsinki. However, it is the SSHV association that is more visible in your everyday life and that takes care of all the important tasks of the student union in Vaasa. Read more about SSHV here.
