Professor Emeritus Christian Grönroos is conferred the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa at Hasselt University in Belgium. The ceremony takes place on 24 May 2022.

The Board of Hanken uses two parallel processes in the recruitment of a new rector. The recruitment started on 10 March 2022. Applicants have been able to submit their own application, and then an external consultant also works with direct recruitment. Both channels have gathered interested applicants who meet the formal requirements.

Dr. Daniel Pasternack has on 1.10.2021 been appointed Professor of Practice at Hanken for a period of three years. Pasternack has a background as an entrepreneur and is the CEO of the asset management company Elite Alfred Berg.

Within the agreement between Hanken School of Economics and the Fulbright Center, three US scholars will visit Hanken during spring 2021. Professors Nezih Altay, Brian Gibson and Leigh Anne Liu will conduct research at Hanken and hold a public seminar on their findings. More information about the seminars will be published on Hanken's website during the spring.

In its meeting on 1.3.2021, the Board of Hanken appointed Charlotta Collén, licentiate in social sciences, as the new director of the unit at Hanken that is responsible for research, corporate connections and international affairs.

Christina Dahlblom has been appointed Professor of Practice at Hanken’s Department of Management and Organisation as of 3 November 2020. Dahlblom wants to contribute to even tighter networks and dialogues between Hanken and the corporate world, in order to help Hanken continue developing cooperation, research and teaching that brings value to both Hanken, businesses and society.
