Roger Holm graduated from Hanken in 1997, majoring in finance. Holm has a long career at Wärtsilä, and is at present President for Wärtsilä Marine Power and Executive Vice President. He has been engaged in Hanken in many ways, and is a member of the Board since 2018.
“My relationship with Hanken has varied over the years, but it has always been a source of networking, knowledge, colleagues and benchmarking. Receiving the award as Alumnus of the Year is a great honour,” says Holm.
Through his engagement in Hanken’s activities, Roger Holm is an active link between Hanken and the business community, and serves as a role model for both current students and other alumni.
“I’m very happy to appoint Roger Holm as Alumnus of the Year. Roger has a vast experience and his desire to develop Hanken is very valuable. We appreciate his genuine commitment and positive attitude to the work and network around Hanken”, says Rector Karen Spens.
The recognition was announced during the annual homecoming day Hankendagen on 2 October 2020 in Vaasa. This was the 12th time Hanken appointed the Alumnus of the Year. See the entire list of appointments here.
