Vaasa city library is closed between May 22 and June 6

Vaasa city library is moving to a new library system. The library system is used for managing all library materials, loans, and customer data. Due to the change, all library locations will be closed between May 22 and June 6, 2023. During this period, the online library catalogue will also be unavailable.

All library locations will be closed and the library catalogue unavailable starting with Monday 22 May. The libraries in Palosaari and Sundom will open on June 7, and all other library locations on June 8.

During the closing period you will not be able to borrow materials, renew loans, place reservations, access the library catalogue or visit the library
The newspaper reading room at the main library will be open 9:00–16:00 Monday–Friday. In the newspaper reading room, you can read newspapers and magazines, and use computers. You will not be able to borrow magazines.

Be sure to stock up on materials now, and to renew or return your loans before May 22. No items will be due for return during the closing period. All book drops will remain open when the libraries are closed, but please be aware that materials will not be removed from your account until the library system is live in June.
