Two new Professors of Practice

management in companies. He will also teach a new kind of course with a strong connection to business.
– I am happy to get to use my knowledge of management, business development and doctoral education in a new context. The goal is to create new knowledge, a lasting value together with thinkers, students and entrepreneurs, says Tallqvist.
Tallqvist took his PhD at Åbo Akademi University in 2012 , when he identified innovation patterns within the consumer goods and heavy industry trades. His latest engagement was serving as Investment Director for the wine company Inkerman.
– Torkel Tallqvist has been a great asset to Hanken for a long time by mentoring our students in entrepreneurship and management. He has also contributed to making Hanken a leading academic institution regarding research in entrepreneurship, says Joakim Wincent, Professor in Management and Organisation.
Pekka Sääskilahti associated to Helsinki GSE

actice, he is also associated to Helsinki Graduate School of Economics, and he wants to encourage students to apply economics in practice and to develop their own approaches.
– This is a great opportunity for me, and I feel grateful to Hanken. For a long time, I have had an agenda to improve Finnish companies’ use of economics in their decision-making. The opportunity to work with Hanken students and researchers on methodologies and approaches on how to leverage economics in business is what I foremost am hoping to get engaged in, says Sääskilahti.
Sääskilahti has a PhD from Helsinki School of Economics. His entire career he has been working with questions related to how firms compete in the market. He worked with Nokia for over ten years, and now he is Senior Vice President and Head of Finland and Scandinavia at Compass Lexecon.
