Presemo and Flinga
Since last summer we have Flinga to support group work and brain storming during class. The teacher needs to log in to create the white board for group work och wall to create ideas, but the students need their phones or computers and the session code to participate.
- "Flinga whiteboard offers versatile visualization tools for collaborative knowledge building. The entire classroom can simultaneously participate."
- "With Flinga Wall it is possible to collect students’ comments, questions and answers quickly and easily for all to see"
Flinga can be found from the toolbar on MyWeb.
Since end of January 2019 we also have a pilot period until end of July with Presemo, a tool to create interactive question and answer sessions even with large student groups.
- "A moderated channel for your audience to ask open questions and be heard. Get more questions answered right away by the right person."
- "Warm-up with quick polls and measure the collective opinion on burning issues. Prepare your questions beforehand or go with the flow and create polls as the need arises."
- "An important decision to make or a topic to address? Have the participants propose and peer-evaluate solutions. Capture and distribute tacit knowledge, provide rich qualitative input for strategic and operative planning, follow up on execution, and foster an open organizational culture"
- "Our fundamentally easy and stable tools have been used for visualizing changes of opinion, as an embedded question channel for web casts, or sharing the agenda and participant list digitally. It is also possible to integrate text messaging and social media, "
Both tools can be accessed from anywhere meaning even on a joint Helsinki -Vasa lecture both set of students can participate.
There will be an Introduction to Presemo workshop Wednesday January 30th 10:30-12 - in room A411 and V142.
