Professor Gang Wang from Florida State University is visiting Hanken during autumn 2024 as Fulbright-Hanken Distinguished Chair.

Fulbright-forskare Gang Wang

Dr. Wang is the Madeline Duncan Rolland Professor of Business Administration and the Director for OBHR and Strategy Doctoral Programs in the Department of Management at his home university in Florida.

He also serves as an Associate Editor for Group & Organization Management and sits on the editorial boards of four top-tier journals (e.g., Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology) in the management field of research.

“My research is centered around the effectiveness of leadership across micro- and macro- disciplines. During my time at Hanken I will collaborate with two Hanken faculty members, Dr. Mats Ehrnrooth and Dr. Pia Paulina Junni, on two separate projects. One project meta-analytically examines the joint, unique, and interactive effects of leadership and human resource management practices on organisational outcomes. The other project investigates the role of target firm CEO attractiveness in acquisition premium during mergers and acquisitions”, Dr. Wang describes.

Dr. Wang is recognised as an impactful and influential scholar as evidenced by over seven thousand citations per Google Scholar and numerous awards and recognitions for his publications. He consistently produces papers that impact the way that other scholars conduct their own research.

“I am extremely lucky to have the opportunities to work with two reknowned, productive, and hard-working Hanken professors. I am inspired by their genius ideas, deep understanding of the literature, and cutting-edge research. Together, we will brainstorm and finalise the theoretical foundations of the research projects, discuss details in data collection and analytic techniques, and keep carrying out the projects. I am happy to share my knowledge and experiences with faculty, doctoral students, and any other members in the Hanken family. I hope to form long lasting collaborations with scholars at Hanken”, Dr. Wang states.
