“The Emerging Practice of Information Governance”
Professor Sharon K. Sandeen, the Fulbright-Hanken Distinguished Chair in Business and Economics 2019-2020, is a recognized expert in intellectual property law, particularly US and international trade secret law and practice.
She will discuss her recent book titled “Information Law, Governance & Cybersecurity” which is designed to teach law students and InfoSec professionals how to assist their clients to manage the multitude of information and data they create and collect daily. While compliance with privacy laws, principally the GDPR, is a large part of information governance, it is not the only part, requiring businesses and their attorneys to take a more holistic approach to information management, protection and security.

The agreement between Hanken and the Fulbright Center provides prominent American scholars the opportunity to spend a period at Hanken. During their visit, the scholar will lecture or conduct research and contribute in disseminating Hanken’s research and knowledge within the business community and society.
Fulbright Center is a service organisation that specialises in academic exchange between Finland and North America. The main goal is to support the internationalisation of Finnish universities and research.
