The newly listed financial group Mandatum is a new member of Hanken School of Economics’ partner programme. “Hanken offers a versatile education that goes well with our extensive operations at Mandatum. It's a good match," says Joanna Kivi, Talent acquisition & Employer branding Manager at Mandatum.

Through the cooperation with Hanken, Mandatum hopes, among other things, to promote the company as a potential employer with diverse work opportunities for Hanken students with different backgrounds and skills.

“We are eager to join the well-planned partner programme for closer cooperation with the Hanken students. We have experts working in a variety of fields and we hope to offer interesting career opportunities where students can gain insight into the business world and learn from our experts. Similarly, we want to learn from the students' innovative thinking and skills. We are happy to visit Hanken to tell more about our operations, current themes in our industry and job opportunities," says Kivi.

Mandatum has about seven hundred employees and operates mainly in Finland with some presence in Sweden and Luxembourg. The company offers asset and wealth management, savings and investment, reward and pension solutions and personal risk insurance, among other things. Mandatum provides services for corporate and private customers as well as institutional and asset management customers. Values that the company emphasizes are customer benefit, boldly different and together as one team. As a newly listed company, Mandatum offers many opportunities to both new and old employees.

Kivi says that Mandatum has two annual trainee programs and a few trainee positions throughout the year for those students who want to gain insight into professional life and have an interest in working with diverse tasks in the field.

“As a trainee, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced and diverse environment with responsible tasks alongside top experts in the field. We have many employees who started their career at Mandatum through the trainee program," says Kivi.

In terms of skills, the studies at Hanken provide an excellent starting point to working life, according to Kivi. She emphasizes the importance of having a positive, proactive and forward-looking attitude.

“At Mandatum, we strongly believe that a competent and motivated staff creates the foundation for successful business operations. Therefore, we invest heavily in employee experience, company culture and employee well-being. All employees have a significant impact on job satisfaction here.”

In addition to skilled personnel, a strong brand and proven investment track record are at the heart of Mandatum's success.

The financial industry is in constant motion when it comes to digitalization, innovation, sustainability and regulation. This, in turn, places many demands on competence development and the importance of experts in several different areas.

“Today, for example, sustainability and social responsibility run through our entire business. Other current themes include data and artificial intelligence. These open up many interesting opportunities," says Kivi.

18 companies are now part of Hanken's partner programme. Read more about the partner programme here. More information on Mandatum can be found here.
