We’re thrilled to invite you to the Sustainable Finance in the Quantum Era Hackathon—an exciting event designed to merge cutting-edge technology with sustainable finance solutions. This is your opportunity to work at the intersection of ESG, AI, Quantum Computing, and Open Data, tackling real-world challenges while driving positive environmental impact in the finance sector.

On October 3-5, in this hackathon, we’re looking for innovative minds to explore how alternative data combined with advanced technologies can revolutionize the finance industry. Whether you’re passionate about sustainability, fascinated by quantum computing, or eager to showcase your tech skills, this event offers a platform for you to make a meaningful contribution to a more sustainable future.

Key Challenges

You’ll be tasked with solving pressing problems such as:

  • Advancing the Green Transition
  • Developing smarter methods for Carbon Footprint Calculation
  • Creating impactful ESG Solutions
  • Exploring Quantum Computing Applications in financial data analysis

Your solution can take many forms—whether it's a concept presentation, a prototype, an application, or a quantum model, the goal is to demonstrate how innovation can unlock new opportunities for sustainable finance in the quantum era.

Participants will have access to IBM Quantum Computing and a wide range of open data sources (including sensor, satellite, and mobile data) to fuel your solutions

Prizes and Awards

We’re offering a total prize pool of 5,000€ for the best solutions:

  • Best Business Concept: a prize pool of 2,500€ awarded to the teams with the most creative and practical business idea. No previous technical experience required!
  • Best Technical Implementation Using Quantum: a prize pool of 2,500€ awarded for the most advanced technical solutions leveraging quantum computing.

One team can win both awards, so if you excel in both business and technical areas, you could walk away with the full prize!
