Guest lecture by Professor Alan Crane
Institutional owners are becoming more and more important in most stock markets around the world. Usually these institutions own just a small fraction off the total number shares in the company in which they hold shares. For this reason serious engagement in the firm´s governance usually does not pay off. A potential solution is organized cooperation between institutions to put pressure on target companies with observed corporate governance flaws. Professor Alan Crane from Rice University in Texas, together with his colleagues, have made an extensive study on data for the USA to find out whether this kind of cooperation has produced desired results. Come and take part of their conclusions, to be presented at HCCG on November 15th starting at 16.30 in auditorium Futurum, Hanken´s main building.
