The main entrance to Hanken in Helsinki is being renovated. The work has been delayed and will be finished by 18 August. Until then the main entrance is not in use but you can enter the building through the door on Runeberginkatu.

Paul Taimitarha is the new ombudsman for Hanken Support Foundation. He is a Hanken Alumni and has been chair for both the Alumni Council and the Student Union Support Foundation.

This autumn Hanken launches an initiative to bring leading Finnish companies and international students together. The aim is to create an internationalisation programme that benefits all parties.

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS ended 30 June 2017. The campaign got support from a total of 944 private persons, organisations and foundations who together donated 11.8 million euro to Hanken.

The main entrance in Helsinki will out of use in July and the windowsills need to be emptied for the window cleaners.

Hanken alumni Päivi and Kurt Björklund donate 250 000 euro to the ongoing fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS. The donation reaches Hanken in the last week of the campaign and contributes to the campaign reaching 11.6 million euro.

The Hanken foundation 'Stiftelsen Svenska handelshögskolan' has decided to reward the following persons for their publications in accordance with the guidelines (from 9/2014) for rewarding scientific publications.

Publication Forum (in Finnish: JUFO) is a rating and classification system to support the quality assessment of research output and operates under the auspices of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV).

In order to encourage Hanken research groups to apply for external research funding, the School has developed an incentive scheme to promote applications for external funding from sources such as the Academy of Finland and the EU.

Hanken researcher Peter Sarlin is member of the world-first global project to analyse high frequency financial data. The project team consists of researchers from the UK, France, Germany, Finland and the US.

Exchange students at Hanken are extremely pleased with their experience and their studies. The results from the latest exchange student survey show that 88% would recommend Hanken as a destination for an exchange student semester.

The research-based idea competition Helsinki Challenge has now reached its final stage. An international jury has selected six teams to the final. An additional team was selected through an audience vote on the Pitch Nights held on 6-7 June.

The Academy of Finland has decided to grant funding for three research projects at Hanken.

Hanken is currently investigating the ruling made by the Supreme Administrative Court to exempt an MBA-programme offered in Finland by a UK-based university in Finland from VAT.
