Breakfast seminar with John Broussard
Associate Professor John Broussard from Rutgers, State University of New Jersey will present his research under the topic: Extreme Finance: Applications to Risk Management and Asset Allocation.
“In the investment world, we are taught that risk drives return. The definition of risk, however, is somewhat problematic. My presentation takes a different angle on risk - extreme movements in asset prices and I will present various topics on how extreme value statistical techniques can be applied to financial markets”, says John Broussard.
Broussard is visiting within the agreement between Hanken and Fulbright Center. His main areas of research are financial risk management, international finance markets and high frequency trading impacts on investment performance. Broussard has been working with academic colleagues in Finland for over two decades.
Fulbright Center is a service organisation that specialises in academic exchange between Finland and North America. The main goal is to support the internationalisation of Finnish universities and research.
