According to a national survey conducted annually, alumni of Hanken School of Economics score highly on employability and they are satisfied with both their studies and their career development.

The survey was sent during autumn 2023 to master's degree graduates who received their degree five years ago and doctoral degree graduates from three years ago. Hanken scored very well in the survey once again this year. Respondents gave their studies 4.7 points out of 6, which was the highest score among all universities in Finland.

Out of the responders 95% said they were satisfied with their career and 98% would recommend their alma mater to other prospective students. The employment rate is also very high, with 96% indicating they are employed.

Alumnen Lukas Lundin

Lukas Lundin is one of the alumni who responded to this survey. He graduated in 2018 and now works as a business lead at Microsoft.

“Hanken gave me the skills to jump into a multinational company right after graduation and thrive from day one.  Answering the survey is the least I can do to give back to a university that has given me so much”, says Lundin.

Hanken's master's programme was recently ranked 57th in this year's edition of the Financial Times Masters in Management ranking, which is also partly based on the alumni’s evaluation of their education.

You can read more detailed results from the latest survey on Hanken's website. In addition to the national survey, Hanken also sends a survey to all master's degree graduates six months after graduation.

Every answer is important to Hanken

This year's career survey opened on 1 October 2024. The survey has been sent to all master's degree graduates who graduated in 2019 and the doctoral degree graduates who graduated in 2021.

"We hope that as many alumni as possible will take the time to respond to this year's survey. Insights from our alumni are incredibly valuable to Hanken and help us develop our education," says Mira Aarnivuo, Alumni Relations and Fundraising Manager at Hanken.
The results also have an impact on Hanken's funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
