Studies in business and economics are popular - Record number of students applied to Hanken in Vaasa 2023!
This spring's joint application closed today at 3 pm. This year, Hanken School of Economics received a total of 2149 applications for the bachelor's programme in Swedish with the Swedish master's programme receiving 249 applications. A record number of 739 applications were submitted for the bachelor's programme in Vaasa, which beats the previous record in 2022 (706 applications).
Dean of Education Sören Kock is pleased to see the increased interest for studies in Vaasa.
“Hanken has a strong international profile with the triple accreditation and mandatory exchange. It is an investment in the region because many graduates stay in Ostrobothnia. The increased interest may also be due to the fact that students at Hanken in Vaasa are very content with both the studies and community, which our feedback also shows regularly.”

Since Hanken introduced new methods to apply that allows applications with high school certificates from Sweden and through the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (SweSAT) the interest to apply from Sweden has increased. The application period for applicants from schools in Sweden is still ongoing until 20th April.
The application for Hanken's master's programme in English ended earlier this spring and attracted 446 applicants from all over the world. Of these, 131 students were admitted to the master's programme. The PhD programme has also been popular and 18 doctoral students were admitted out of a total of 207 applicants.
Admission results
The admission results to the bachelor and master's programmes at Hanken School of Economics are published as soon as they are ready however at the latest 7 July
