Record number of applicants to Hanken's programmes in Swedish

The application period for the joint application closed on 25.3.2025. The interest for programmes in business administration and economics remains very high. This year, Hanken received a total of 2 852 (2024: 2 488) applications for the bachelor's programme from 2 197 (1 931) individuals and a total of 300 (401) applications for the master's programme from 252 (237) individuals.
Dean of Education Mika Gabrielsson is pleased with the continued increased interest in Hanken's offerings in Swedish.
“Our students have been very satisfied, which is also reflected in the national bachelors’ survey where graduates have expressed their satisfaction with Hanken's education. We also believe that Hanken's international student exchange programme generates significant interest among applicants. Since student exchange is a mandatory part of the studies, we offer both sufficient support for the exchange process and a network of over 100 partner universities."
Head of admissions, Ida Borgar agrees with Gabrielsson.
“We have noticed that the interest in Hanken has increased over several years, and perhaps the fact that we are a smaller university where you get to know your fellow students and teachers makes us an attractive option. Our programmes maintain a very high international quality, whether you study in Swedish or in one of our programmes in English."
Since Hanken introduced new admission criteria that allow admission based on Swedish high school grades and the SweSAT, interest from Sweden has also increased. The application for persons with an educational background from Sweden is still open until April 16, 2025.
Please note that the application numbers mentioned in this article are preliminary.
