Martti Mäkinen New Director for Hanken’s Centre for Languages and Business Communication

Associate Professor Martti Mäkinen has been appointed Director of the Centre for Languages and Business Communication by the Rector of Hanken as of 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2018.

The centre offers courses with emphasis on intercultural business communication in several languages: Swedish, Finnish, English, French, German, Russian and Spanish. The centre also conducts research in many of the languages.

Martti Mäkinen, who has been working as Associate Professor at Hanken since 2010, is approaching his new assignment with an open mind and a keen ear.

”In everything I do my focus is set on communication: in teaching, interactions with students and colleagues, inside and outside Hanken. Successful communication makes everything else easy,” says Mäkinen.
