Lisa Ellram visiting Fulbright scholar at Hanken
Professor Ellram is University Distinguished Professor and the Rees Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Farmer School of Business in Ohio. She is consistently noted as one of the top cited scholars in business, particularly in supply chain management both nationally and globally.
“I am looking forward to hosting a Ph.D. course at Hanken on the circular economy, to collaborate with Finnish Scholars and doctoral candidates to expand our understanding of the circular economy and how it relates to all aspects of sustainability. I hope this will spark future research collaborations for myself and others, and we all try to better understand how to mitigate climate change,” says Professor Ellram.
There has been a great deal of discussion and a rapidly increasing number of publications on circular economy in the past years. Professor Ellram is also working on a project with Hanken researchers Gyöngyi Kovacs and Anna Aminoff to better understand the way that business and science researchers view the circular economy related to packaging.
“In understanding the various perspectives, we hope to provide insight into possibilities for synergy which could improve the understanding of the implementation of circular economy solutions in packaging,” Professor Ellram states.
In April Lisa Ellram will speak at a seminar at Hanken on the topic. Her presentation will provide insights into what circular economy is, why it is so important, and the opportunities it presents for business and practice.
