The amount of admitted students include the 14 extra places of study that Hanken offers in the years 2014 and 2015, based on an agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Education.
In addition, 33 students will be admitted based on studies at the Open University. The amount of applicants via Open University-studies has increased dramatically from previous years. A total of 53 persons applied for studies at Hanken within this admission quota compared to 34 the previous year.
Admission statistics for 2014:
This year the priority points per campus were increased. In practice this means that an applicant who is considered motivated to study at a particular campus is rewarded with more points in comparison to applicants who have marked it as second priority. This year 77,5 per cent of the applicants marked Hanken's Helsinki campus as first priority.
The interest to study at Hanken among Finnish speaking students continues on a good level. The share of applicants with Finnish as mother tongue increased from 21,9 per cent (2013) to 23,3 per cent (2014).
A new feature of this year's entrance exam was that all questions were optically readable, multiple-choice questions. The questions of the entrance exam are published on the Hanken web site (in Swedish): www.hanken.fi/public/intradesprovet
In 2015 Hanken will introduce a new admission quota, which makes it possible for new university students who choose Hanken as first priority to be admitted directly based on excellent results in their matriculation exam.
