Hanken School of Economics joins the European University alliance ENGAGE.EU
ENGAGE.EU welcomed two new partners, Hanken and Universitat Ramon Llull, Barcelona, at the ENGAGE.EU Expansion event on May 26 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
“The starting point of the ENGAGE.EU alliance is the big challenges reflected in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This is a perfect match for Hanken as these values are in line with Hanken’s overall strategy”, says Sören Kock, Dean of Education at Hanken.
The intention of the European Commission’s launch of the European University Initiative Opens in new window is to create a network of around 60 universities across Europe to increase quality, performance, attractiveness and competitiveness of European higher education institutions globally.
“ENGAGE.EU is a great opportunity for our faculty, staff and students. It will, for example, enable students from all member universities to obtain a degree by combining studies at several universities and in several EU countries”, says Maria Holmlund-Rytkönen, Dean of Programmes and Quality Assurance at Hanken.
Hanken has a long tradition as a leading research driven university in economics and business administration. Joining ENGAGE.EU will further strenghten Hanken’s international focus. Hanken prides itself in strong connections to the business industry. This practical approach aligns with ENGAGE.EU’s vision of societal outreach and collaboration with industry partners.
During 2022 Hanken will be integrated step-by-step in the work packages of ENGAGE.EU. Hanken will become full partner with the start of the second funding phase in 2023.
