Hanken graduates pleased with their education
The Finnish Business School Graduates-organisation conducts a yearly survey among recently graduated business students and the results from the 2016 survey have now been published. Nationally the graduates appreciated their education and thought that they had achieved the learning goals very well. Many respondents did, however, feel that the emphasis on theory was too strong and had hoped for increased corporate relevance and more tools to prepare for working life.
All 257 graduates from Hanken had responded to the survey, which in itself is remarkable. The graduates are relatively young and the mean age by graduation is now 27.4 years, which is two years below the national mean. Students advance faster in their studies at Hanken than elsewhere and only 53% responded that their studies had taken longer than the targeted two years (73% nationwide in Finland).
The graduates from Hanken continue to be more pleased with the quality of their education and the skills they got than the average. The Hanken graduates thought they were better prepared for entrepreneurship and had better knowledge of the second national language than graduates from other business schools in Finland.
The corporate contacts were also higher rated than the national mean and the internationalisation of the education was better at Hanken than at other educational institutions.
