Academy of Finland granted profiling funding
Since 2015, the Academy of Finland has provided special competitive funding to strengthen university research profiles. The goal of this funding vehicle is to support Finnish universities in their transition to more focused research profiles.
Hanken has been successful in obtaining funding from the profiling programme. From the first three application rounds in 2015-2017, Hanken has received a total of 1,85 million euros. This round Hanken was granted an additional 0.5 million euro for the period 2019-2023.
- Hanken will direct this funding to further strengthen the research within two areas: Quantitative consumer behaviour and competition; and Sustainable financial management, accounting, and governance, says Jaakko Aspara, Dean of Research.
All applications have been reviewed by a panel of international experts and Hanken’s application received an overall rating of 5 out 6. Eleven of the thirteen universities that applied for PROFI funding were awarded funding. The funding varies between 500 000 euros and about 15 million euros.
