Irina Prokkola
I started my career as a teacher in 1993 when I taught and held lecturing positions at Aalto University and at Hanken School of Economics as a part-time teacher. Since 2004 I've worked as a full-time Lector at Hanken School of Economics, Russian Business Communication.
During my long career in Hanken I have developed and taught a variety of courses in Russian Business Communication, both traditional and online courses, for example, in 2004 A Distance Learning Course for Business Students on the Internet. The course was developed by HANKEN and The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
Recently, I've been very interested in the effects of games on teaching and learning, as well as using online programs in teaching both online and in a classroom. Creating a completely self-study module is also one of my professional interests.
I have produced a few textbooks in collaboration with my colleagues.
Here is a one example: 2016 Swedish Edition (with Ojanen S-L., Laurila-Hellman, E.) SEKRET USPEHA Företagskommunikation.
Students value Russian language courses. A few courses have received the golden stamp title. In 2012 I was chosen as Teacher of the Year in Hanken School of Economics.
