Piia Korri
I am a fifth-year doctoral student at the Department of Accounting and Commercial Law in Helsinki. I am writing my dissertation under the supervision of Hanna Silvola.
My article-based doctoral dissertation examines the standardization of sustainability reporting in a global context by comparing different institutional environments. My first article explores the multi-stakeholder debate and divergent views impacting the investor information environment in the European sustainability reporting standard-setting. My second article, initiated during my research visit at Berkeley Haas in 2023, studies the spillover effects of sustainability reporting mandate.
My research interests are ESG, sustainability and financial disclosures, accounting standard-setting and regulation.
Besides doctoral studies, I have rather vast experience in the business. Prior to studying for a Ph.D., I worked for nearly 10 years as a management consultant and business development manager, most of it at KPMG on strategy projects.
