The fifth CR3+ conference is taking place at Hanken on 28-29 April
The conference is a collaboration between four PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Champion schools; Hanken School of Economics, Audencia Business School (Nantes, France), ISAE/FGV (Curitiba, Brazil) and La Trobe University Business School (Melbourne, Australia) and is in its the fifth iteration.
The conference theme focuses on the question how until now the concept of Corporate Responsibility (CR) has mostly been made useful from the perspective of the ‘business case’. Too often, while the supposed positive impacts of CR on the business bottom line have been a key claim for legitimizing CR practice, the impacts on society have tended to be less closely investigated, or only from a ‘win-win’ perspective focusing on obvious positive impacts without problematizing potential negative externalities. The event will be composed of two plenary sessions and several parallel workshop sessions per specific sub-themes.
The opening plenary is a panel discussion around the general theme of the conference. In this panel, six professionals of CSR, representing international expertise from business (representing Credit Agricole, Castrén & Snellman, and Miltton Group), civil society (Finnwatch) and academia (Cass Business School, and Hanken), will discuss how CR could be made useful for various purposes, but most importantly from the societal perspective.
The closing plenary is a panel discussion about “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their implementation in Business Schools”. The panel is comprises of representatives from each of the four CR3+ co-organizing schools, Audencia, La Trobe ISAE/FGV and Hanken.
