Sustainability-in-action team challenge: week 7

Hanken is launching an 8-week sustainability challenge and competition. The challenge will run from 9 September to 3 November.

1

A plant-based dishwashing liquid for the kitchen needs of the team at the Centret för språk och affärskommunikation-Centre for Languages and Business Communication.

2

A "sustainable" meeting with colleagues from Helsinki and Vaasa!

3

Promotional material often ends up in the trash before even being read. At the international partnerships and mobility team, we wanted to avoid this, when we recently arranged a partner day with participants from around the world. All promotional material of Hanken was freely available for the participants to pick and choose from (as shown in the picture) rather than handing out all material to everyone.

4

We try to reduce the use of paper and printouts and we sort all of our office trash. Shown on the picture is a former cardboard box for printer paper now reused to temporarily store cardboard trash before we eventually bring it out to the bigger sorting bins.

At the international partnerships and mobility team, we always go by train when travelling between Helsinki and Vasa (of course!)

During the 8 weeks, teams will be challenged to capture photos of sustainability in action! The pictures will then be shared on the internal web and Hanken’s weekly newsletter. Finally, an exhibition will be created out of all the pictures and displayed during the 2nd Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) week between 19 to 26 November in Helsinki and Vaasa. All the staff members will be able to vote for the best picture(s) and the winning team will receive a small sustainable prize.

Teams challenged for next week are: Allmän adm. och personalärenden /General Administration and personnel matters; Finansiell ekonomi/Finance +CEFIR and Business Lab. We them luck with their sustainable mission!
