Department of Accounting and Commercial Law
The Department focuses on the two major subjects of Accounting and Commercial law. These subjects are integrated and linked together in order to offer the student a more holistic view of business, law and commercial practice. The Department's courses afford students the opportunity to study an exciting range of related topics. Research and teaching at the Department are aimed towards giving students a good theoretical foundation, in addition to the acquisition of practical and relevant skills required in the marketplace.
The Department's courses in accounting are focused on the fields of auditing, financial statement analysis and computer-based accounting information systems. The Department's courses in commercial law are focused on intellectual property law, corporate finance, corporate governance, tax law and labour law.
