The Responsible Organising Stakeholder Conference is an annual event free and open to all. The conference aims to gather participants from all stakeholder groups, from business actors, civil society representatives, students, alums, academics, and the general public, to bridge dialogue between academia and practice and disseminate research to stakeholders and the general public.
This year, the conference theme is "Care". This theme focuses on questions directly related to environmental and social sustainability - two of the three pillars of sustainability - in work relations and surrounding practices.
Join us at the conference to explore issues of 'Care' in work towards more sustainable future with various inclusion topics to promote responsible organising behaviours across organisations, species, and groups for both human and nonhuman actors.
The 5th conference is held on site at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki, but there will be a live stream of keynote and panel sessions for those who cannot attend physically and are interested to learn about the topics.
Registration is mandatory. Participants who register for the live stream will receive a link close to the conference day.

Two keynote sessions:

- Caring for Animals at Work and in Society: Challenges and Possibilities - Kendra Coulter, Professor at Huron University College at Western University, Canada

Title of the talk: Why is There No Love in Gender Plans? A turn to loving masculinity
Description: In this presentation Prof. Kopano will draw from his recent book, Why Men Hurt Women, and talk about why we need to think much more about of love, not only as dyadic relationship but also as a social force, to which we need to pay attention in changing masculinities toward a more caring ethos.

Speaker: Professor Kopano Ratele
Bio: Kopano Ratele is professor of psychology at the University of Stellenbosch and head of the Stellenbosch Centre for Critical and Creative Thought. He has published extensively and his books include 'There Was This Goat: Investigating the Truth Commission Testimony of Notrose Nobomvu Konile' (2009, with Antjie Krog and Nosisi Mpolweni), 'Liberating Masculinities' (2016), 'Engaging Youth in Activism', 'Research and Pedagogical Praxis: Transnational and Intersectional Perspectives on Gender, Sex, and Race' (2018, co-edited with Jeff Hearn, Tammy Shefer, and Floretta Boonzaier) and The World Looks Like This From Here: Thoughts on African Psychology (2019). His latest book is Why Men Hurt Women and Other Reflections on Love, Violence and Masculinity (2022). Kopano is a regular guest on national radio stations. He has a masculinity and fatherhood feature on SAFM’s The Meeting Point with Koketso Sachane.

Title of the talk: Caring for Animals at Work and in Society: Challenges and Possibilities
Description: Animals are part of our families and communities, and they are both involved in and affected by our economic activity. This keynote presentation emphasizes the diverse roles of animals in our societies, and the importance of thinking about other species when considering our social, environmental, and ethical responsibilities. By recognizing the significance of work for human-animal relations and then prioritizing ideas and actions rooted in care and solidarity, we can help cultivate a more just and humane future for people and animals alike.

Speaker: Prof. Kendra Coulter
Bio: Kendra Coulter is Professor of Management and Organizational Studies at Huron University College at Western University. She is a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics and a member of the Royal Society of Canada's College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, the Canadian Violence Link Coalition’s Strategic Planning Committee, the Government of Ontario’s Provincial Animal Welfare Services Advisory Table, and the City of London's Animal Welfare Advisory Table. She is the author of the forthcoming Defending Animals: Inside the Front Lines of Animal Protection (MIT Press) and Animals, Work, and the Promise of Interspecies Solidarity (Palgrave Macmillan), and the co-editor, with Charlotte Blattner and Will Kymlicka, of Animal Labour: A New Frontier of Interspecies Justice? (Oxford University Press).
