Fellowship Programme
The fellowship programme offers a 2- week to 6 months stay at the HUMLOG Institute, Hanken School of Economics to post-docs, professors, PhD candidates and Humanitarian practitioners. The aim of the Fellowship Programme is to provide a platform for mutual exchange of knowledge and potential collaboration to produce high quality research in the field of humanitarian logistics.
The scholar will be provided with a desk and a computer in a shared office at the HUMLOG Institute. It is required that the scholar collaborates with other researchers at the HUMLOG Institute and shares the interest in humanitarian supply chain management or related disciplines, such as development and crisis management.
During the period of the stay, scholars are encouraged to author publications for academic outlets (e.g. Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management), to present their research in research seminars, and to actively participate in the HUMLOG Institute activities.
The applicant will need to cover their own travel and lodging costs, however possible grant applications are possible.
The HUMLOG Institute does not provide employment visas or support.
The application should include the following:
A. a description of your research areas of interest,
B. your research idea (please specify the added value of staying at the HUMLOG Institute to conduct your research plan),
C. a suggestion for dates of your stay,
D. a mention of whom from the HUMLOG Institute you would like to work with (we highly recommend the applicants to be in touch with whom they want to work with already during the application process),
E.a budget,
F. your CV.
A good publication record is seen as an advantage. For some positions in the programme, preference is given to applicants from developing countries. Fellowships are evaluated by the HUMLOG Institute Board. The Board usually meets twice a year, in Spring and Autumn.
Applications can be submitted to humlog@hanken.fi.
