Threshold criteria
|
Certificate-based admission is only open for first-time applicants. Applicants that have already at some point accepted a study place at a higher education institution in Finland can still apply, but they must then apply based on an SAT or ACT test.
The Bachelor programme follows the same certificate-based admission model as the Swedish taught Bachelor programme at Hanken.
In the 2024 application, the program received 1337 applicants, with the lowest admitted certificate score being 103,2. The certificate-based admission model and which subjects award points is described in more detail at yliopistovalinnat.fi, the minimum number of points that can be considered is 77 and the maximum number of points is 154. Mathematics syllabus must be passed acceptably.
More about certificates
The Finnish Matriculation Examination can be completed only in Finland. Read more about this certificate here.
An International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma is a certificate awarded by the IBO. To find more information about the IB diploma, click here. Many countries have awards or certificates that have a similar name, "baccalauréat", however, only the diplomas awarded by the IBO organization can be considered in the certificate-based admission to this programme.
Certificate-based admission to be renewed in 2026
The universities will introduce a new points model for certificate-based admission in the joint application to Hanken's Bachelor's programme from spring 2026 onwards.
The new points tables are now published here. Hanken will start using the new model in spring 2026. In the certificate-based admission in 2025, Hanken will still use the same points model as before. You can find the current model here.
