FOP Finnish Teachers' Network
FOP is a collaborative network and a Finnish teachers project for Finnish teachers at Swedish-speaking colleges and universities to develop teaching and reach a common vision of the requirements and assessment criteria in Finnish education in the country.
The project was launched in autumn 2016 with a training day for Finnish teachers at the Police University College in Tampere on the 7th of October 2016. The name FOP was coined in connection with this first training day, Finskan opettajien päivä. The name is an offshoot of MOP, Maailman opettajien päivä, which is celebrated in the country on the 5th of October.
The network was led until autumn 2024 by Ulrika Rancken at Arcada together with Marit Nilsson-Väre from Hanken. The Swedish Cultural Foundation’s contribution to Finnish industry-specific continuing education amounted to 40,000 euros until autumn 2024. Marit Nilsson-Väre will continue as the sole person responsible for the development of the FOP project for the time being.
