Fulbright Breakfast Seminar with Fulbright-Hanken Distinguished Chair Craig Crossley
In this session, Dr. Crossley will discuss several of his studies related to ethical leadership effects on firm financial performance and on leaders' careers. He will also share insights into forming academic-industry research partnerships that allow greater scientific rigor, relevance, and practical impact.
Dr. Crossley is an associate professor of management at the University of Central Florida. He is internationally renowned for his research on leadership, trust and ethics, and moreover for his ability to form research-practice collaborations with a wide range of business partners from small family businesses to large multinational firms.
In the past few years there has been a fair amount of debate and contradictory findings on how Human Resource policies and leadership styles jointly affect firm performance. Along these lines, Dr. Crossley is continuing work on a methodologically advanced project with Hanken professor and researcher Mats Ehrnrooth to more clearly isolate effects and offer a more complete understanding of how to optimise leadership and HR practices to enhance both firm performance and employee well-being.

“This research has important implications for how firms compete in an increasingly global economy with impending talent shortages and a major shift in the nature of work, especially in the knowledge and service sectors,” Dr. Crossley states.
